The Bucintoro has the same fantastic views of the lagoon and the islands as the Cipriani, if not better. But the rooms in this small family-owned hotel vary in standard. Closed in December and January.

Ostello Venezia
Classic hostel that attracts backpackers from all over the world. It is located on the island of Giudecca, from where you take in Venice in all its glory. It is well connected with the vaporetto (boat) lines and it is a good departure point for trips into the city and into the lagoon. No private rooms – only separate men’s and women’s dormitories.
